light circles parade down
The erie deserted street
as the sun set dramatically
The sky turning gold
They did not make a sound
Nor did they wave to the dark trees
spinning while they float
making lines on the ground
They passed the houses and cars
tails hovering away
They thought they could even
rule the night as they fly by it
The gold sky sadly turned night
and the light circles laughed
at the watching and whispering
little shiny native stars
Then the moon came out
yawning and blinking her eyes
then she saw the circle parade
and she shook her head at the sight
Nothing could stop the parade
Not even the wandering police
who did not even see them come
or even see them leave
The parade went on though out
the night until the sun woke up
It was dawn they realized
and they turned and disappeared
The unseen circles never came
to that lonely street again
for that lonely street became alive
on the loud 4th of July
